MagicTrain · Working beta · New South Wales

Rehab at home, with your physio still in the loop.

Your phone camera tracks 33 body points while you do the exercises your physiotherapist prescribed. MagicTrain counts the reps, measures the joint angles and sends your physio a report after every session.

No hardware to buy. Works with the camera on the phone or laptop you already have.

Training

Models trained on NVIDIA H200 and NVIDIA B300 GPUs.

Evidence

Every model is scored against marker-based motion capture.

BioCV · MAE · ICC

How it works

MagicTrain is AI-guided home rehabilitation for physiotherapy patients.

Three steps, and your physiotherapist stays in the loop at every one of them.

01

Upload the plan your physio gave you

A photo of the exercise sheet is enough. MagicTrain turns it into today's session: exercises, sets, reps and the cues your physiotherapist wrote.

  • Squat · 3 × 10
  • Glute bridge · 3 × 12
  • Step-up · 2 × 8
02

Do the session in front of your camera

The camera tracks 33 body points in real time. Reps are counted, joint angles measured and form is flagged, all on your device.

  • Rep 6 / 10
  • Knee 92°
  • Depth reached
03

Your physio gets the report

Angles per rep, tempo, flagged reps with a still frame, and the trend across weeks. A video consult is one tap away when something needs a look.

  • Week 3 trend

What the camera sees

Numbers your physio can act on, not a score out of ten.

Each rep becomes a row of measurements. The same joint angles a physiotherapist would read off a goniometer, captured on every rep, at home.

ICC ≥ 0.75 good, ≥ 0.90 excellent. Evaluation pipeline and thresholds, not results. Ground truth: Qualisys marker-based motion capture from the public BioCV dataset.

Evidence

Scored against marker-based motion capture.

Before a model ships, its joint angles are compared with optical marker-based motion capture on the same movements. We publish the thresholds a model has to clear, so a physiotherapist knows what the numbers mean.

Technology

Trained on NVIDIA H200 and B300.

We train MagicTrain's pose and movement-quality models in PyTorch with CUDA on NVIDIA H200 GPUs, and rent NVIDIA B300 capacity for the larger training runs.

Training

Pose and movement-quality models

PyTorch with CUDA on NVIDIA H200; larger runs on rented NVIDIA B300 capacity.

H200 in-house · B300 rented for larger runs

On-device runtime

33-landmark pose in the browser

Pose estimation runs on the phone or laptop GPU. Raw video never leaves the device; measurements and, if the patient opts in, still frames of flagged reps go to the physiotherapist.

Evaluation

Marker-based ground truth

Joint-angle MAE and ICC against Qualisys marker-based motion capture (BioCV), with acceptance thresholds set per joint.

Next: TensorRT-optimised export for on-device runtimes, and a larger validation study with partner physiotherapy clinics. Read the technology page →

For physiotherapists

You prescribe. MagicTrain shows you what happened between visits.

  • A report after every session: angles per rep, tempo, flagged reps with a frame.
  • A patient list with adherence and trend, so the next appointment starts from data.
  • Video consultations from the same portal when a movement needs your eye.
